Jareeda 2
This artwork is a illustrations done on a piece of newspaper (Jareeda), where the scraps of newspapers are the canvas. The newspaper, as simple as is, is not only a source of news, but it could also be used in artistic and creative work. The newspapers have been combined with Mandala drawings which represent the universe and along with their decorations they balance the visual elements in the artwork. Every piece represents the duality of nature; as the newspaper is not as any ordinary paper so is the Mandala, therefore each illustration becomes a reason to transfer the ordinary into creative art that symbolizes unity and harmony. The question of whether newspapers are already expired and repurposed as canvases, or if the news is worthy of being considered part of an artwork is an inquiry about the nature of media and perception. On one hand, newspapers, often discarded after a day’s reading, find new life as canvases for artistic expression, symbolizing a transformation from fleeting information to enduring creativity. On the other hand, the news within these pages can be seen as raw materials, turning headlines into visual narratives that transcend the brief nature of the print. Ultimately, both perspectives highlight the dynamic relationship between news and art, inviting the viewer to reconsider the boundaries between information and inspiration.
